Discover the Jewish Studio Project's process that combines creative artistic expression with Jewish wisdom through reflective prompts that inspire insight and joy. The evening features musical Selichot hymns and concludes with Havdalah.

Morning Service 10 am
Our Rosh HaShanah morning service invites you to begin the new year with intention. Together, we’ll hear the sounding of the shofar, engage in introspection, and seek renewal through communal prayer and connection.
Kiddush 1 pm
Tashlich & Potluck Picnic at Lake Mendocino 2 pm
We go to water to “cast away” breadcrumbs or pebbles as symbols of releasing what no longer serves. Potluck Picnic at Lake Mendocino followed by a ceremony led by Janae Stephens. Directions will follow.)
Kol Nidre with Rabbi Alyson Solomon & Kohenet Amanda Nube:

Kol Nidre is the emotional and powerful opening of Yom Kippur, our Day of Atonement. Join us for a contemplative service as we seek forgiveness, reconcile with ourselves and others, and set our intentions for the year ahead.
This is the one night of the year we wear a tallit.
Yom Kippur Day with Rabbi Alyson Solomon & Kohenet Amanda Nube:
Monday Sept 21, 10 am (ends around 1pm)
Begin the day of Yom Kippur with a morning service focused on reflection, repentance, and prayer. Together, we’ll journey through this sacred day, seeking atonement and spiritual renewal.
Congregants are welcome to rest at the shul during afternoon break
Open Torah: 4 pm
Open Torah is a tradition unique to Kol HaEmek, where we gather to express and support personal wisdom and insight.
Yiskor Service: 5 pm
Join us for Yiskor, a solemn memorial service where we honor and remember our loved ones who have passed. This time of reflection and prayer allows us to connect with the memories of those who came before us.
Neilah (Concluding) Service: 6 pm
(followed by Havdalah and Break-the-Fast potluck at the Shul)
As Yom Kippur comes to a close, gather with us for a final service that brings the day’s themes full circle. We’ll conclude with heartfelt communal prayer, sealing our intentions for the coming year. This closing service will be followed by a vegetarian break-the-fast potluck.
Create Our Sukkah and make Lulavs:

Join us in building and decorating the Shul sukkah, a symbol of shelter and community.Volunteers are needed to prepare and decorate our Sukkah. We also need bamboo gatherers and a truck. Contact Robin.
Community Sukkot Celebration and Potluck:
Sunday September 27, 4pm
Celebrate the festival of Sukkot, as we give thanks for the harvest, reflect on the impermanence of life, and find joy in gathering together. Lay-led Celebration and vegetarian harvest potluck in the Sukkah.
Simchat Torah with Rabbi Elizheva Hurvich:
Sunday Oct 4, 12 pm
(Potluck followed by celebration and exciting art project)
Celebrate the culmination of the fall holidays by exploring the mystical power of Hebrew letters and words, creating a personal amulet for the year ahead, and dipping Hebrew letter cookies in honey for a sweet and blessed new year.
Torah readers are warmly invited to read the end and beginning of the Torah as we celebrate completing one cycle and beginning another.
